Trena Brown
Trena has an extensive senior management and technical background with IBM, AT&T, and FBR Capital Markets Corp. Having retired as a Vice-President of AT&T in 2003, her functional background includes sales management, customer service, strategic planning, network service provisioning and its maintenance, technology management, and organizational development. She brings 35 years of professional knowledge and experience to her management consulting company, Taylor Brown Associates.
Trena received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Maryland College Park in 1969 and a Master’s degree in special education from Coppin State College in Baltimore in 1973.
She has served on a number of boards including CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Stella Maris Hospice, Florence Crittenton Services, the Alliance Theatre of Atlanta, The Leadership of the Greater Baltimore Committee, Citizens Planning and Housing Association, and Kennedy-Krieger’s Festival of Trees. Ms. Brown received the Harlem YMCA National Achiever in Industry Award, and the United Way of Maryland’s Clementine Peterson Award for volunteerism.
Trena is a survivor of acral melanoma. In 2013, her toe was amputated, and the melanoma metastasized to her lungs in 2016. She underwent immunotherapy (Yervoy and Opdivo for three months, and then Opdivo) for two years and has been in complete remission since 2018.
Since retirement and before COVID, Trena was an avid international traveler and she looks forward to continuing to explore the world.
Trena lives in Baltimore County, Maryland.
