2024-2025 Request for Proposals

The Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for pre-clinical, translational, and early clinical research with the potential to produce unusually high impact, near-term advancements in melanoma prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment.

This cycle, proposals will be accepted for Established Investigator Awards, Academic-Industry Partnership Award (for Established Investigator Awards), Young Investigator Awards, Pilot Awards, Dermatology Career Development Awards and Special Opportunity Team Science Awards, Academic-Industry Partnership Award (for Special Opportunity Team Science Awards). 

MRA plans to support at least $9.2 million in new funding in the 2024-2025 cycle. 

Special Opportunities Included in RFP:

  • Acral Melanoma Established Investigator, Young Investigator, & Pilot Awards focused on Advancing Translational Research for Acral Melanoma 
  • Uveal Melanoma Established Investigator and Young Investigator Awards focused on Advancing Translational Research for Uveal Melanoma
  • Uveal Melanoma Pilot Award co-funded with A Cure in Sight (ACIS)
  • Team Science and Established Investigator Awards in Pediatric Melanoma co-funded with St. Baldrick's Foundation
  • Team Science Award for Translational Research Opportunities from Patients Receiving Neoadjuvant Treatment Approaches
  • Radiation Oncology Young Investigator Award co-funded with the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO)
  • Young Investigator Award (YIA) proposals from applicants based in Australia, Israel, or the United Kingdom (UK)

Please Note the Following Key Deadlines:

  • September 27, 2024: Letters of Intent (LOI) for Special Opportunity Team Science Awards and Special Opportunity Team Science Academic-Industry Partnership Award due

  • October 21, 2024: Eligibility Checklist for Young Investigator & Dermatology Career Development Award applicants due
  • November 4, 2024: Proposals for Established Investigator, Young Investigator, Pilot and Dermatology Career Development awards due
  • January 6, 2025: Invited Special Opportunity Team Science Award full proposals due
  • April 2025: Awardees notified of funding decisions
  • June 1, 2025: Project Start Date
